On Friday 17th November, the U14 and U15 netball teams took part in a tournament with 5 other schools in Battersea Park hosted by FHS. Our first match for the U15s was against City of London Girls. We knew this would be a tough and challenging game testing our fitness and teamwork. After a solid performance we ended up winning 6-2 putting us in high spirits for the next game. Next up was FHS Regent’s Park, whom we know well having played them several times in the past. Both our U15 and U14 each played extremely well, winning both matches against them.

Throughout the morning our shooters continued to score many excellent goals and the defence were on great form intercepting and turning over possession in all the games. After 4 hard earned victories for the U15s, it all came down to the final match against St Benedict’s to determine the overall winner of the tournament. A tense first half saw both sides level at 6 goals each, but then FHS managed to outscore the opposition in the second half for a superb tournament win. Special mention must be given to the performance of our U14 team who competed tremendously against all the U15 teams and came away with a fantastic 3rd place finish. The positive mood on the pitch was helped by the encouragement and support from the sidelines as our U14 and U15 squads showed great team spirits cheering each other on. We look forward to this week’s tournament in Harrodian building on last week’s success.
