The Old Girls’ Society has existed for over 100 years as an exciting and supportive alumni community. All those who have attended the school, whether staff, pupils or parents of former pupils, are members.

Join/Login to the Alumni Network

The Alumni Association has a dedicated website, allowing all alumni to register their contact details, keep in touch with other alumni and foster an exclusive professional network. A fantastic way to stay connected, the website features photos and news articles, upcoming events and a career mentoring platform.

Communicating responsibly with regards to reducing impact on the environment is of paramount importance, therefore alumni communication is sent primarily via email. To receive our email updates, please register on the alumni network (above blue button) or complete a registration form and email it to us.

How We Can Help You

We love to hear from our alumni so please email us with your news. We are keen to support any individual requests, so if you:

  • are hosting your own reunion
  • would like a tour of the school
  • are looking for your next career opportunity
  • would like to support the school’s careers development projects
  • wish to search our archives

… please let us know. Forthcoming events and deadlines can be found on the online network.

The Society organises a number of events and projects each year to support our alumni. Annually, these include:

  • a Lunch/Drinks Reception in March to celebrate the school’s birthday
  • a Newsletter published in January to celebrate alumni and school achievements
  • a Travel Fund announced in May open to all alumni
  • a Business Enterprise Award of up to £10,000 to support fellow Old Girls in business, announced annually in March and open to all alumni

A Lecture Series has also taken place over a number of recent years, usually given by an alumna or close relative. For a full list of alumni events, please visit the dedicated alumni website.

The Alumni Association Committee also meet three times a year to discuss other matters and support individual alumni requests. The Society is keenly involved in the upkeep of the school’s archives, many of which are now digitised and can be searched on request.

Alumni can also support the School Careers Department by becoming a Careers Champion or Mentor with a profile on the alumni network. Alumni provide a range of career connection opportunities for pupils, including mentoring, interview practice, work experience opportunities, lectures, and network contacts. Our Champions cover a diverse range of industries and we are always looking for more, so volunteer today! If you are interested in becoming a Mentor or Careers Champion, please email for more information, or visit the Careers Page on the alumni network.

The Old Girls’ Society has created a fund to help current Upper Sixth and alumni who seek to broaden their education and experience through travelling abroad, be that in the summer after leaving Francis Holland Sloane Square, in their gap year, while at university or later in life. In the last few years girls have benefitted from the OGS Travel Fund and have travelled to India, Zambia, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Mexico and Greenland, among other places. Reports of their journeys are published in the annual OGS newsletter and here on the network.

The grants awarded cover up to 25% of the total amount which the applicant needs to raise, up to a maximum of £1,000. All written applications for the grant will be considered by the OGS committee before being offered.

Please note the closing date for the Old Girls’ Travel Fund 2024 is Sunday 14th April 2024.

To apply, please download and complete the application form, below, and return by email to alumni@fhs-sw1.org.uk.

The Old Girls’ Newsletter is published annually, in January, celebrating alumni achievements, news and events. The newsletter also provides former pupils with the opportunity to keep up to date with school news plus reconnect with former peers and reminisce about school days gone by. The magazine is available to read on the alumni network or you can request a copy to be sent to you by contacting us via email.

We are delighted to be able to offer the FHS Magazine to all our alumni for £15. The magazine contains a compilation of highlights from the academic year at Francis Holland, including a number of features on alumni events and alumni involvement. Please email us to purchase your copy or to find out more!

We look forward to seeing you again soon, please keep in touch via the online network and we hope to receive news from you and your contemporaries at Francis Holland.
