A Lifelong Enthusiasm for Learning

Francis Holland Junior School provides a warm and inspiring environment in which our girls can learn and thrive. It is a unique community that fosters a care and awareness of the needs of others and a desire to make a difference, both in the school and in the wider world. We are committed to instilling happiness, confidence and lifelong curiosity. Girls are encouraged to be fearless, brave and to be prepared to have a go, no matter how great the challenges before them.

From September 2024, our Junior School will relocate to an iconic Grade II listed building in the heart of Chelsea, just off the King’s Road, and become Francis Holland Preparatory School
for girls aged 4-11. Find out more here.

Message from the Head of Junior School

Francis Holland Junior School cultivates confident and curious girls who are quick to tell everyone of their latest fascinating discoveries and achievements.

Their thirst for knowledge and understanding is evident through their creative writing, philosophical enquiry, environmental projects, historical exploration and scientific discoveries. They thrive on exciting, rigorous and ambitious learning from inspiring teachers who make lessons fun. From Reception upwards, these girls develop independence through their journey of developing skills and intellectual challenges.

By Year 6, these lively, thoughtful and questioning ten year olds are quite remarkable in their passion to understand the world. They can debate with gusto, reflect on the world around them with care and empathy, solve problems creatively, and appreciate the bigger picture. They will become intellectually ready for the transition to their next school, heading off with a listening ear, an alert brain and an eager eye to their next adventure!
