This Wednesday, our Year 6 girls were treated to try what I would say could be the epitome of Spanish cuisine to mark the end of our project on food, on which the girls have worked incredibly hard and have learnt so much about.

Chef Cilveti, hands-on and ready to impress these girls regardless of their high expectations, cooked them a potato omelette ‘tortilla de patata’ which brought so much excitement to our lesson. Before trying the omelette, we mentioned how the Spanish society is highly polarised as to how this dish should be cooked, either slightly raw or well-cooked and with onion or without onion. This one, exactly as Chef Cilveti knows is the best way to have it, was slightly raw and did include onion. Having made this statement quite clear to the girls, we then took some lovely pictures that you can see here. The girls all said they loved it, as did Miss MacLennan, so it was such a success! In the end, we all had a very lovely day together! I can also let you know that the teachers did not have any complaints about it when they enjoyed the rest of it in the staffroom either!
