PAST PROJECTS
We are dedicated to providing the best opportunities for every pupil through the continuous enhancement of our facilities. Over the last 5 years, the following projects have been delivered.
THE HIVE
As part of our visionary campus masterplan, The Hive has become a standout example of how thoughtful design can transform everyday student experience. Repurposing former Junior School classroom space, The Hive now serves as a social space for Year 9 and a creative space where all girls come together to connect and collaborate in lesson time. Since opening, The Hive has proven hugely successful, an embodiment of our commitment to wellbeing and the development of essential life skills.

The Collaboration Space is a vibrant multifunctional environment reimagined from an area of the former Junior School’s lower ground floor. This creative teaching and social space is designed to nurture imaginative thinking and inspire creativity and connection. The space supports both structured learning and informal activities, acting as a hub for Years 7 and 8 to gather, create and build friendships. Since its launch, the Collaboration Space has been alive at break and lunchtime with activities ranging from board games to crocheting, demonstrating its effectiveness as a space for connection, curiosity and community.
Cornerstone is a dedicated pastoral hub thoughtfully created from the former Junior School office space to place pupil wellbeing at the heart of school life. Since opening, Cornerstone has become a much loved sanctuary where girls can pause, reflect or simply enjoy a quiet moment, whether seeking reassurance or just needing a peaceful break with a cup of tea and the comfort of Kanga, our therapy dog.

The support of the Francis Holland Sloane Square community has transformed Carmel Hall into a new and modernised space. Donations of in excess of £30,000 (double our initial goal of £15,000) have funded a fully furnished Studio Theatre with full lighting-rig and sound desk.
It is now perfectly equipped for staging plays, musicals, chamber performances and recitals, as well as the many ABRSM music exams taken by our pupils. The space has created more opportunities for technical involvement of pupils in productions and has increased their creative scope. These enhanced facilities have, of course, also significantly improved audiences’ experiences.
We are very grateful to our donors for enabling us to have such a wonderful space for our ever-growing number of drama students and for our whole school community.

Francis Holland Sloane Square provides an education which prepares young women for a fast-changing, dynamic world, as well as enabling them to make, and to be, the difference in society. The Old School House represented a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for us to provide an innovative Sixth Form education in a truly inspirational space.
Thanks to the support of our parent community, we raised over £700,000 to transform this impressive three storey building into our beautiful Sixth Form Centre, which opened in September 2021. Linking directly to our existing school buildings via the science labs in the Grosvenor Wing, it also has its own entrance via Ebury Street. This space has increased our School by 909m2, an additional 15% to our previous footprint.
Working with an architect that specialises in school development, this phenomenal building has been designed to feel like a transitional space for our girls between school and the world of work. The interior design is industrial, like the flexible working spaces that many of our girls will go on to work in once they leave Francis Holland.
As a school we are constantly evolving and adapting to the needs of our pupils and the world around them and this latest stage of our evolution reflects our vision to enable our girls (your daughters) to become the leaders, thinkers and game-changers of tomorrow.
