Today we have been bowled over by the epic selection of sporting outfits, from skiers to show jumpers to basketball players to surfers, donned by girls today for our inspirational athletes Mufti Day.

This is in aid of the charities being supported by Miss James, Mr Allan and Miss Hunt in the London Marathon this Sunday.

Mr Allan and Miss Hunt will be running for Prostate Cancer Research – you can learn more and donate here.

Miss James will be running the marathon for Mental Health Foundation – you can learn more and donate here.

Proceedings kicked off at breaktime with a gregarious Inspirational Athletes Parade in the Hall, where girls and teachers took to the catwalk before our marathon runner judges. Congratulations to our winner Allegra in her fantastic equestrian outfit!

Lunchtime saw a vibrant array of fundraising activity in the playground with our Inspirational Athletes Playground Takeover. Our athletes enjoyed Netball Challenge, Musical Chairs, Marathon Raffle, Throw the Medal, Face Painting, Pin the Medal, a bake sale and, last but certainly not least, writing good luck messages for our brave runners!

Thank you to all of our girls and staff for their enthusiasm and incredibly creative costumes, and best of luck to Miss James, Miss Hunt and Mr Allan, and Hissah in Year 8 who will be competing in the competitive Mini Marathon, on Sunday.

GO FHS!
