Today, in a determined and focused effort to ‘go the extra mile’ for others, FHS pupils and staff are running at least 1500 times the length of the Playground (relay, non-stop).

We are raising money for UNICEF, particularly for those families affected by the conflict in Ukraine, and across the world. After some careful thought, we have decided to support the UNICEF 7 Fund. The 7 Fund focuses on young women who are suffering the consequences of unrest and conflict across the globe though their main focus at the minute lies with the emergency appeal in Ukraine.

The journey from Kyiv to London is approximately 1500 miles. 1500 times the length of our Playground is 45km which is just over a marathon. As such, our aim is to ‘go the extra mile’, running at least a marathon in our Playground, for those families affected by conflict, particularly in Ukraine.

Pupils of all ages, as well as staff members, have been running in the Playground since 8am to raise money for this phenomenally important cause. As of 4.00pm today the total combined distance covered is 250 miles or just over 402km. More details can be found here: About Us – 7: The David Beckham UNICEF Fund.

It is great to see so many girls and staff taking part so far. Thanks so much to all our runners and helpers who are keeping track of shuttles – we are already well on our way to hitting our target distance! – and thank you to all who have generously donated so far.
