This week, we welcomed Lisa Grainger, an award winning journalist and editor based in London, to speak to the Lower Sixth. Lisa told us her story, exploring how she got to the place she is in now.

We were really inspired by the emphasis she placed on the importance of curiosity and dreaming big. When Lisa was a little girl growing up in Africa, the only magazines she had access to were the ones that her cousin sent her from Europe. Lisa soon realised that there were actually people behind these magazines, which sparked her interest in a career as a journalist.

The Sixth Form were enthused by her successes within Times Luxx magazine, plus her various interview stories, which included meeting celebrities such as Nelson Mandela, Naomi Campbell and Anna Wintour. Lisa was an inspiring female role-model for all of us, and we thank her for her time spent speaking to us.
