With large scale events put on hold during the pandemic, it was great to host the Annual Senior School Swimming Gala on Tuesday 8th March. This day also marks ‘International Women’s Day’ and the participation and performance from all those involved, was a great way to recognise, celebrate and empower the pupils and staff at FHS.

The gala is always an exciting battle between the houses where girls in Year 7-10 compete. For Year 7 and 8 pupils, this was their first experience of such an event and it was wonderful to see so many girls participating in the races, supporting their peers and receiving ribbons for their achievements.

Every pupil who swam during this event, was part of contributing to the overall score for their house. It was a close competition and it was all to swim for during the last races. There were some impressive performances from many of the girls in the FHS swimming squad with a special mention to Maya Al-Faisal, Hissah Al-Faisal and Eva Dramitinos.

The results came down to the final few races and is as follows;

1st – Franklin
2nd – Ashcroft
3rd – Woolf
4th – Fonteyn

Well done to everyone involved and congratulations to Franklin.
