1st Prize to Gayatri

Gayatri’s poem has amazing imagery, she contrasts hot things with cold things and mixes ideas together. The poem is short, sharp, funny and in control of itself. A real winner!

2nd Prize to Caterina

Caterina’s poem tells a story and leads us into a magic world of castles and spells with each rhyming couplet. It is thoughtful and clever and full of wonder.

3rd Prize to Hope

Hope’s poem understands so well how fun rhyming is. The poem has great rhythm that is set up by the rhyming words and it is exciting to read.

Special mention goes to Emi Cadwallader for ‘The Swedish Chef’

We loved how this poem rhymes a chocolate mousse with the animal moose. We also loved the repeated chanting of ‘okay okay okay!’ Lots of character and imagination.
