On Friday 19^th April we embarked on a trip to Nice for our first ever international gymnastics competition ‘Very Nice 2024’. The competition included gymnasts representing over 25 countries such as Ukraine, Lithuania, Austria, and Slovenia to name a few. It was a privilege to represent GB with our club ‘Centrum Gymnastics’. Over 500 gymnasts performed over the two days, and they all performed at their very best, making the decision for the judges very tough!

After a nerve-wracking long wait, it was time for our performances with our ball duet up first, followed by Ilia’s free routine and Arianna’s hoop routine. The other gymnasts set the bar extremely high, with judges scoring all gymnasts on their Difficulty, Artistry, Execution and Penalties.

After a long wait, the scores were released, our hearts were racing, but as it turned out, for a good reason! We were ecstatically happy as our duet got us a gold medal followed by a silver medal for Ilia and a bronze for Arianna’s hoop routine. The experience created memories that will last a lifetime and we can’t wait for our next international competition.
