Our Outreach Superstars of the Week this week are our Year 9 and Year 10 Charity Reps. On Thursday, we visited the Hammersmith and Fulham Foodbank warehouse, where all of the Foodbank Donations are checked and sorted ahead of distribution to needy families. Normally there are two sessions of sorting per week, but the Year 9 and 10 Charity Reps worked so efficiently that they sorted EVERYTHING in just a couple of hours. Impressive work! The Charity Reps were surprised by the amount of food needed and at the amazing amount of work that goes in to making the foodbank operate. Check out their incredible work on our Instagram here!

Steve, the warehouse manager, was so impressed with the diligence and dedication of the Charity Reps. We’ll be visiting again next term!

We are so proud of our ongoing support of the Foodbank, which is complemented by the chance for students to volunteer and find out more about the vital role that the foodbank plays in supporting those in need in our community. Far more than just a place to collect much needed food, it’s also a space in which families and individuals can go to for advice and support to help them out of their current difficult situation. As the cold weather starts to bite, more and more people find themselves relying on the support of foodbanks. Thank you to all the parents who donated so generously on Tuesday morning – you absolutely make a huge difference.

Our next collection is on Tuesday 5th December.
