Our keen Year 12 Spanish group ventured on a trip to Southwark on Tuesday. We had the opportunity to go to a Spanish tapas restaurant with Mr Confino and Jesús, followed by watching a theatre production named ‘La Casa de Bernarda Alba’ at the Cervantes Theatre. It is a play that was originally published in 1936, written by Federico García Lorca.

We will be studying this play next year, so although the language was at times challenging to understand due to the use of the Old Castilian language, it enabled us to fully immerse ourselves into the experience. The Cervantes Theatre is a small theatre with only about 85 seats, and the actors were superb.

We all had a fabulous time and would like to say a huge thank you to Mr Confino and Jesús for organising the trip.
