This week in our PE lessons, we have been honouring the London Marathon which is taking place on Sunday 4th October. We challenged ourselves to see just how far we can run collectively. We are supporting the fundraising activities of everyone’s favourite Maths Teacher/Marathon Runner: Mrs Catherine Price. As you may know already, Mrs Price has been living with Adrenocortical Carcinoma, a particularly rare and aggressive form of Cancer. Despite this, she will be taking up her place in the delayed Virtual London Marathon, running 26.2 miles on Sunday 4th October. She is also swimming the marathon distance AND cycling the same distance in September and October in order to raise money for Cancer Research UK. We are obviously very keen to support her fundraising efforts, which you can also do here.

The girls gave their all to the challenge and we were so impressed with the level of determination and resilience on display. Year 8 ran the furthest collectively, scoring an average of 3.3 laps each and a total distance of 178 meters travelled. Making them the ‘How far’ Year group champions. Special mentions must be given to Carolina R, Minty T, Clara N and Sophia K who ran the furthest in their years and to Cordelia J in Year 8 who ran a total of 5,665 meters crowning her the ‘How far’ champion!
