On Saturday 3rd October, Caterina M, Marysia FB, Amber K and Bella B participated in the Imperial Schools Debating competition, one of the toughest competitions on the circuit. On this occasion, though, they did not need to battle through the elements to the Imperial campus but only needed to get as far as their laptops as the competition was run entirely online. They debated four motions during the course of the day ranging from “This house believes that schools should heavily emphasise the flaws of historical heroes (e.g. Winston Churchill, Gandhi)” to “This house believes that a world without extremes of emotion would be a better place.” Caterina and Marysia did brilliantly to come 14th out of 64 teams, beating teams from Eton, Dulwich, Wellington, Westminster, City of London Girls and St Paul’s Girls along the way.
