At FHS, we fervently believe in using our time, talent and treasure to help those less fortunate than ourselves. We have strong connections to a number of link charities, one of which is Katherine Low Settlement (KLS), which was founded by an FHS alumna in 1924. KLS supports vulnerable people in the Battersea community.

Christmas is a particularly important time to celebrate the powerful of giving and, for a number of years now, girls in Year 7 at FHS have gathered and wrapped presents for people supported by KLS. The Dining Room was a colourful hub of activity on Tuesday afternoon as girls in Year 7 carefully wrapped a variety of hand-chosen presents for the children, with the help of Mrs de Vos, Madame Lenec’h, Mr Dyson and members of the Senior School Parents’ Association.

On Thursday, our Year 7 Charity Reps and other volunteers hand-delivered the presents to KLS, helped the elderly residents decorate their Christmas Tree and regaled them with some lovely festive carol singing, accompanied by Miss Vickery and conducted by Mr Mercer.

Thank you so much to all our Year 7 volunteers, teachers and to the SSPA for once again organising these wonderful initiatives.
