As is customary in the last week of the Autumn Term, we enjoyed Christmas exhibition netball matches by our U15 and U18 squads. The playground was abuzz with festive energy as younger year groups flocked to the playground to support the teams, and the standard of play in both matches was very impressive.

U15

On Monday 4th December, the U14 and U15 netball players played a very exciting netball game. Both U14 and U15 got split up and shuffled into random teams: the blues (Tinsel Toes) and the reds (Sleigh Bells). They were both very strong and skilful teams that all enjoy playing netball. At half time it was a very close match, with both teams fighting to win. Towards the end, the blues (Tinsel Toes) pulled away and ended up winning 20-14.

It was a really close match and both teams fought hard to win. It was also a really lovely game of netball to play and be a part of!

U18

The U18s played a friendly Christmas match on Tuesday 5th December. It was a very close match, as there were lots of great turnovers and the score was 8 – 8 at half time. The defence was tight and forced errors and the attacking was fast and precise. There lots of support from the school watching (many of whom were merrily singing along to Christmas songs!) while the blue Tinsel Toes pulled ahead for an 18 – 13 win against the red Sleigh Bells.

Congratulations to all the teams for playing so well and, most importantly, for being excellent sportswomen and finishing so well. We look forward to many exciting netball events in the Spring Term, including our legendary annual Varsity tournament against our sister school, FHS Regent’s Park!
