On Friday 16th October, our first dress-up day of the year took place. With girls being asked to ‘give a nod’ to Halloween, we saw the most glorious range of costumes as girls arrived at school. If you had stood at the school gates in the morning, you would have seen a wonderful array of cupcakes being brought in, each prepared carefully using adequate PPE.

We have been raising money for In-Deep Community Task Force, owing to their focus on loneliness during this pandemic. They provide a community centre for families to come together over lunch and food banks to support with weekly provisions. We were thrilled to hear that Emma Chapman who leads In-Deep received an MBE last week and we welcomed her into school on Wednesday 14th October to receive a bouquet of flowers. Andrea and Claudia in Year 10, who have supported the charity as pen pals to the elderly, met with Emma for a Q&A session.

Thanks to the enthusiasm and generosity of our pupils, parents and staff, we raised an amazing £1749.39 for In-Deep from our events in October, including our Dress-up Day, Harvest Festival, Bake Sale and Pick and Mix Sale. This is in addition to filling boxes with Harvest festival donations (no doubt breaking some sort of record there too).  A huge thank you to everyone involved!
