On Monday 29th April, the Francis Holland School, Sloane Square, Junior and Senior ski teams took to the slopes for the first time to participate in the National Schools Ski Championships at the Snow Centre in Hemel Hempstead. We started off the day early but when we arrived, spirits where high. Everyone had a lot of fun racing against the other schools around the country. Overall, one of the Junior teams was placed 2nd which was a huge achievement, especially seeing as it was our first race as a school ski team. We left very proud of the results, and we are excited for future races.
Carolina Grabau and Anais Donin De Rosiere, Year 9
Well done to all of our superstar skiers for their brilliant performances on the slalom course, many of the pupils trying this type of course for the first time. A special mention must go to Carolina and Anais who placed 1st and 2nd overall in the U14 girls category, which is a fantastic achievement. We hope this is just the beginning of FHS competing on the slopes!
