We held our annual Christmas Enterprise Fair in the Senior Hall on Tuesday lunchtime, and it did not disappoint!

We were delighted to raise £755 to support our sponsored students at Mvumi School, Tanzania! This is a remarkable total and largely the result of the great efforts of the stallholders, some of who spent hours and hours over the weekend baking, organising, and generally preparing their stalls. It was also fantastic to be able to fundraise to support one of our partner schools during the Independent Schools Council Partnerships Week this week.

Thank you to all of you who came along, whether you bought a hot chocolate/ hand of whipped cream, challenged SANTA to an arm-wrestle, decorated a cupcake, or queued up for AGES for the ICE BUCKET CHALLENGE – a huge (and unexpected) hit! Who needs brownies and cupcakes when you can stick your hand in freezing water for the chance to win… socks!

Thank you also to our wonderful staff for getting involved: the teachers that helped out with stalls (or bravely ferrying kettles of hot water) and, importantly, the amazing facilities team, Mr Benji, Mrs Penny, and the Marketing Department, who were ably assisted by video producers Millie H and Sofia G in Year 13 and special reporter Minty H in Year 7!

Huge well done to Heidi H (Year 10) for winning the ‘Chubby Santa’ competition – an astonishing 12 marshmallows in your mouth at once! Wow! Maybe a new event for sports day?

Congratulations also to Georgia S (Year 10), who was the closest guess (290) for ‘How Many Sweets in the Jar’ – 287!

Thank you so much to everyone involved in a truly epic event – what a way to kick off the festive season!
