‘What on earth is a visualiser?’, I hear you ask. Visualisers are a small desk gadget, able to project all manner of objects, documents and screens onto walls. This facilitates teaching and makes learning as easy as possible. It also allows girls to have their work used as examples, encouraging peer-to-peer learning and boosting confidence, all in one fell swoop! We are looking for eight of these so that each classroom can have one. Six have already been donated.

Our ambitious PE department has a holistic sports analysis application in their sights, however it’s only compatible with an iOS (Apple) interface. The aim is to improve FHS sporting prowess, helped by using this ground-breaking technology. Enabling the girls to see in ‘real-time’ how their technique can be improved will ease their understanding of how they need to move to increase their sporting abilities. Get more of our girls on the podium by helping us purchase an Apple iPad for the School’s PE department.

Purchasing a year-long subscription to the Junior National Geographic allows our Junior girls to have access to information about current events in a format that is directed and tailored to them. With so few materials that are aimed specifically at children and covering current affairs, we want to show girls that they can and should take an interest in the world around them.

We want to introduce four junior sewing machines and teach our girls this useful skill. Not only will this encourage their creative side, but also support their ability to be more sustainable by ‘upcycling’ clothes, add a tangible flare of their unique personality, or even just repair that favourite toy of theirs that was almost lost to the dog’s chewing habits!

The Junior School girls are desperate to have their very own tortoise – children seem to find them endlessly fascinating! Not only will this bring your daughter closer to nature, but they’ll also be able to interact with an animal that is completely safe and learn to care for something.

We can’t have our new tortoise joining our community without a safe place to chill out after a long day of entertaining the girls. Your gift will pay for the tortoise residence, especially important for the months of hibernation!

Screen printing is the process of transferring stencilled designs onto a flat surface using a mesh screen, ink and a squeegee. Prepare yourselves for your daughters bringing home their weird and wonderful creations!

Learning calligraphy is an undeniably useful skill to have throughout one’s life. The girls have shown much interest in being taught this artful script. We’re sure we can integrate this into Christmas card making…somehow…

Support a trip to The Globe theatre to build on the Shakespeare learning the girls have been doing with Miss Ivison in their library lessons with St Barnabas Primary School. Help to bring the characters to life and celebrate the work the girls have been doing.

These microphones can be suspended from the ceiling. This will make a significant difference to our drama performances, musical theatre productions, speaker events and occasions where the use of a traditional microphone is impractical.

A boundary microphone is a small omnidirectional device that can be positioned on a surface. This will be useful for music, choir and drama performances, as well as guest speakers using lecterns.

The Sand Ant Farm coincides with the Junior School’s aim to undertake the Green Flag award, a prestigious environmental award run by the Environmental Education and Keep Britain Tidy campaigns. In addition, our very own Eco-club aims to educate the girls about environmental issues such as; marine life, biodiversity, energy, litter, global citizenship, healthy living, school grounds, transport, waste and water.

The Worm Farm coincides with the Junior School’s aim to undertake the Green Flag award, a prestigious environmental award run by the Environmental Education and Keep Britain Tidy campaigns. In addition, our very own Eco-club aims to educate the girls about environmental issues such as; marine life, biodiversity, energy, litter, global citizenship, healthy living, school grounds, transport, waste and water. The worms not only facilitate the learning of the above, but also demonstrates the mighty power of nature and how they are vital to the health of the ecosystem.

TIPS or ‘Thinking Innovatively and Problem Solving’ is our very own festival of creativity. The best way to show your support for this initiative would be to sponsor a workshop. Past examples include camera-making, digital animation and creating adverts to raise awareness of endangered species. You will be directly helping to develop girls’ transferable life-skills like creativity, communication and collaboration.

We all know how much our girls love to make noise. Percussion instruments include those such as the timpani, xylophone, cymbals, triangle, snare drum, bass drum, tambourine. Having enough instruments in the classroom for each girl allows everyone to be involved and find their musical spirit. It also supports the development of their verbal memory, spatial reasoning and has been found to improve language skills.

Countless research articles have confirmed the positive impact that nature brings. By helping us purchase two large outdoor plants, we can decorate our small corner of London with green and life, making beautiful surroundings for us all.

In order to help our new outdoor plants get onto the property ladder (see above), we need to buy some pots to house them in.
