After the great success of our Easter Egg initiative at Katherine Low Settlement last year, every girl in this year’s Year 8 made a beautiful handmade card with a personal Easter message for the Elders supported by KLS.

On Wednesday afternoon, Year 7 and 8 volunteers and members of the SSPA (with the expert art direction of Miss Edgeley!) gathered in the Dining Room to creatively wrap and decorate Easter Eggs to accompany the cards for the Elders.

Head of Outreach, Mr Galloway and Bea, Avery, Emma, Lucie, Kayla and Chloe in Year 8 then took the Easter presents to the Elders’ Easter Lunch on Thursday. The girls delivered their gifts then enjoyed chatting to the Elders about their fascinating lives in London.

The Elders were so grateful for their presents and all commented on how lovely it was to chat to the girls, while the girls said “it was fun to chat and learn about the Elders’ experiences”.

Thank you so much to KLS for such an enriching experience, and to all our wonderful student, staff and parent volunteers. We’re looking forward to many more opportunities to use our time, talent and treasure to help others in the Summer Term!
