If you were to ask me how I would describe Kew Gardens in one word, I would say: magical. Our Geography teacher gave us a workbook so we could fill in some facts about the environment, animals and plants. It was so much fun. The workbook included a crossword about the plants that we had to find, multiple creative tasks such as drawing the plants and creating songs or raps about our experience of Kew.

We explored the palm house which was home to plants that are found in a rainforest. Needless to say, the palm house was a lot warmer than the temperate house because of the environment the plants needed to survive. We went off exploring the many sections of the temperate house including the walkway suspended above the trees, which was my highlight of the trip.

After lunch we were taken by a Kew Gardens tour guide to learn how to measure different environmental factors outside and how to compare it to the results of the temperate house’s environmental factors.

In short, my friends and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit and I would like to thank Miss Hammond our geography teacher and all the other members of staff who organised it.
