Year 6 took part in a half day of debating on Tuesday afternoon.

The Noisy Classroom debating organisation came into school to give the girls a whistle stop tour in the art of persuasive argument. The girls went through the basic layout of a formal debate and how this is run. Some girls were a little more experienced, having taken part in the school Debating Club as well as attending multiple competitions. Regardless, each and every girl refined their debating skills and produced individual speeches proposing or opposing specific motions. A fast paced, energetic and rather noisy afternoon. We will welcome the Noisy Classroom back to the Junior School when we host a heat of the prestigious debating competition, the Cicero Cup, next term and on Tuesday 5th December the girls will receive a follow-up ‘voice coaching’ session.
