This week, we were pleased to welcome Louise Hunt Skelley PLY, a very skilled Paralympian and sports commentator.  Louise has competed in two Paralympics, ranked 10th in the world and 2nd in Britain for tennis. Additionally, she won seven junior marathons in a row. Louise shared her journey with us as well as giving very insightful advice along with it.  She talked about her struggles, her triumphs and what kept her motivated.  One of her biggest points was to embrace the struggles but overcome it and push through it, for this is when you learn the most valuable lessons.  We had a chance to ask her questions and she gave extremely thoughtful responses, sharing about both the world of sport as well as social and academic life.  We are so lucky we got to have her speak to us and to carry her words with us, for example ‘surrounding yourself with the people who will lift you up’ as well as ‘understanding how lucky you are’ and how the good will always outweigh the bad.  We are so grateful for her time and her encouraging words from such an accomplished and kind lady.
