During our biscuit decorating elective, girls from both the Lower and Upper Sixth learned some great skills from Mrs Taylor including ornate piping and all that goes into making the delicious vegan royal icing. Our skills improved each week and in the last session we were asked to decorate space-themed cookies which Mrs Taylor baked herself for the space launch initiative run by the some girls in the Lower Sixth. Mrs Taylor baked astronauts, flying saucers and rocket ships. We were able to bring all the decorating techniques we had learned to great effect and they looked amazing. Some took inspiration from the internet to do some very precise designs and others drew their own using some art supplies that Miss Coleman provided for us. We are looking forward to the coming weeks, perhaps even some Christmas baking to welcome in the holiday season.
