Year 7 parents recently came to share afternoon tea with the staff at Francis Holland. This was a chance to meet the teachers of their daughters in a relaxed atmosphere.

The Hall was alive with chatter and parents really valued the chance to get to know those teachers who were going to spend so much time with their daughters in the next few years. Mrs Elphinstone made everyone welcome, underlining the school ethos and reminding parents of Place2Be and the Parents Association.

Afterwards the parents were treated to a talk by Julie Johnson on Transitioning into Year 7. Julie was her usual lively, knowledgeable self, offering very welcome advice and tips as parents start the journey of adolescence and secondary school with their daughters. She underlined the importance of sleep and communication, demonstrating useful phrases and means to do so. Parents were most appreciative and looked forward to the Parent Talk in the coming year.
