This week, the Junior School has been celebrating British Science Week. The girls were treated to some exciting and informative ‘Explore Botany’ workshops which linked well with this year’s theme of ‘Growth’.

On Tuesday morning, the girls were also paid a visit by the mad scientists Dr Russell and Dr Smith! They held a science quiz during assembly, testing the girls’ knowledge of different scientific apparatus as well as topics in their curriculum. The experts were suitably impressed with all the girls!

Exploration of this year’s theme continued in science and STEAM lessons as the girls used magnetism to make beanstalks ‘grow’, attempted to build birds’ nests using beaks, designed and decorated their own amazing eggs, and investigated how different seeds germinate.

Mrs Anstee is very much looking forward to seeing all the cress head competition entries. These are due in on Wednesday and prizes will be awarded on Thursday.
