On Wednesday, 7W & 7X turned their classrooms into museum spaces exhibiting artefacts from Ancient China. The girls have begun their international mini-study focusing on different Chinese dynasties. Their first task was to explore an array of replica artefacts from the Shang Dynasty. Girls investigated the fascinating and exotic artefacts through historical enquiry and fact finding. The use of physical objects in the classroom ensures that learning is brought to life, and our study of China allows the girls to develop a more nuanced understanding of the world, its complexities, and the interconnectedness of cultures and societies. This was a thoroughly enjoyable session with the girls committing to further independent research on the Qing Dynasty for their next lesson!
