The girls have arrived after a long but fun-filled journey to a stunning Cornish evening!
27.06.22 – 9.00pm
After a long day of travelling, Year 7 have settled into their caravans for a well earned first nights sleep. What a busy day we have had! After dinner we went down to the sea to start our Beach Olympics competition and watch the beautiful sunset. We stocked our caravans ready for come dine with me tomorrow, and have a surprise treat ice cream from Mr Dyson before bedtime. A busy day of surfing and beach activities lays ahead of us tomorrow!
28.06.22 – 11.00am
Year 7 are up and about. Today we’ve made our own breakfast and are now out in the sea body boarding and surfing. The life guards are here keeping watch and we’re loving the waves!! More ocean fun to come this afternoon and then the start of our come dine with me competition. Smiles all round!
28.06.22 – 8.00pm
This evening, after we dried off from a very wet and windy day surfing, Year 7 threw themselves into Come Dine With Me. Following almost two hours of preparation, the FHS teachers were treated to 5 star hospitality. Fajitas and brownie sundaes coupled with extraordinary entertainment and top notch conversation have made the first night of the competition very difficult to judge. Even more fun to follow tomorrow!
29.06.22 – 10.00am
This morning, we headed down to the beach bright and early for highly creative morning making sand sculptures under the watchful eye of Head of Art, Mr Edes. It’s another beautiful day in Cornwall and we’re eagerly looking forward to what the day will hold!
29.06.22 – 4.00pm
After a morning on the beach, we have been spending the afternoon ‘coasteering’ along the Cornish cliffs, dipping in and out of the waves, and learning how to safely navigate the rocky terrain. We then hit the beach again for more surfing, where we are really honing our skills on the waves!
30.06.22 – 10:00am
Last night we held the eagerly anticipated finals of ‘Come Dine With Me’, where lots and lots of food was consumed. After dinner, we ventured off for a spectacular talent show. Year 7 certainly are a talented bunch! We have been spending this morning on the beach crafting more sand sculptures and (you guessed it!) more surfing.
30.06.22 – 2.00pm
Lots more coasteering, surfing and sandcastle making took place today with lots of Year 7 confidently surfing back to shore!
30.06.22 – 9.00pm
Year 7 completed Miss James’ fabulous Beach Olympics with an amazing sunset to top off an amazing final full day!
01.07.22 – 11.00am
It’s our final morning in Cornwall and after a fascinating talk from Surfers Against Sewage, Year 7 have been doing a beach clean up before hopping on a coach back home. There was just time for an awards ceremony – well done to the Come Dine With Me winners!
