Year 9 are off to the lakes to start Bronze D of E!

27.06.22 – 10.00pm
The girls have settled into camp after a magnificent first day of adventuring.

28.06.22 – 11.00am
The girls are up and have cooked their own breakfast using camping stoves. Ready for a day of walking!

28.06.22 – 2.00pm
This morning Year 9 had a go at a Navigation Challenge using maps and compasses. They then took a brisk boat trip on Lake Windermere.

28.06.22 – 9.00pm
The day rounded up with some evening team building activities before everyone retired to their tents for a well-earned night’s sleep.

29.06.22 – 12.30pm
Another adventure-filled morning for Year 9. The girls have been Ghyll Scrambling (working their way up and down mountain streams with natural rock slides and jumps into plunge pools!) before enjoying a lakeside picnic for lunch.

30.6.22 – 8:00am
The assessment begins! All ten groups are safely away on their 14km assessed Duke of Edinburgh hike through the stunning lakes. We can’t wait to catch up with them later after they have traversed the fields.

30.06.22- 9.00pm
With groups arriving from 6pm onwards, now all Year 9s have arrived back at camp having completed the 14km trek!

01.07.22 – 5.30am
It’s an early start here for Year 9 as they wake up at 5.30 fir their final breakfast ready to complete their Bronze Award today.

01.07.22 – 12.00pm
All groups have arrived back and are ready to catch the train home!
