Last Friday, Year 3 were very excited to put their palaeontology skills to the test as they took part in a ‘Dino Dig’ workshop at the Natural History Museum.

Having learnt all about the formation of fossils in their Science and STEAM lessons this half term, the girls carefully uncovered some magnificent, fossilised dinosaur remains before taking careful measurements and observations in order to identify which dinosaur they belonged to. After our workshop, the girls were eager to explore the amazing fossil specimens that can be found around the museum and were wowed by the beautiful rocks, crystals and gemstones on display. Particular highlights included seeing Mary Anning’s original curiosities and the terrifying T-Rex.

How lucky we are to have such an awe-inspiring collection of Earth’s treasures on our doorstep!
