This half term in English, Year 1 have been reading Anna Hibiscus by Atinuke. Anna Hibiscus lives in Amazing Africa with her family and loves eating lots of African fruits from her garden. This week in grammar, Year 1 got to try a variety of African foods that Anna Hibiscus eats, including oranges like the ones that she grows in her garden and juicy mangos. They came up with lots of different alliterative adjectives to describe the foods, including ‘yummy yams’, ‘mushy mangoes’ and ‘outstanding okra’. Well done Year 1!
