Creativity galore was unleashed throughout the whole of the Infant school on Monday. A one day workshop, led by the Company, One Day Creative took Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 on a journey through the land of giants, China and Brazil!
In the Big Friendly Giant workshop the girls unpicked the emotions of the story. They developed the characters of The Big Friendly Giant and Sophie using these tools to prepare and perform different extracts from the story.
Transported to China the girls explored cultural music, movement and rhythm to create, develop and perform the most visually pleasing Chinese Ribbon Dance.
As if that wasnt enough, the girls were then transported to Brazil to learn how to play a variety of drums, explore rhythm and beat, work as a team, and prepare a wonderful piece of samba drumming! The day not only empowered the girls but unleashed creativity they had previously withheld!
