On Wednesday 7th March (one day early) we celebrated International Women’s Day. Parents, pupils, staff, alumni and even teachers from our partnership schools came to our exciting panel discussion and Q+A about ‘The Future of Women’ with some women we think are remarkable.
Our expert panelists included: Holly Bourne, Bestselling YA Author and feminist campaigner; Sasha Hardman, Global HR Director at Allen and Overy; Catherine Bohart Irish Comedian of the Year 2017 Runner Up & BBC New Comedy Award 2016 Finalist and Frances Scott, Founder of the 50:50 project that seeks to promote better gender balance in parliament. We also heard from some of our girls about their thoughts and hopes for the future too. An inspiring evening!
‘The Past’ and ‘The Present’ were also present, as girls were welcomed to the school by suffragettes; the Sixth form held an ‘Ironic Bake Sale’ at break time; and we held a Playground Protest over lunch, in which girls from Year 7 to Year 13 shared their views about some of the important issues affecting young women today.
