On Monday evening, we welcomed 150 guests to the stunning Garrison Chapel in Chelsea Barracks for the very successful launch of our Promise campaign. We have committed to raising £15m for an endowment to fund bursaries for our Foundation Scholars, with the eventual goal of offering 25 additional students bursaries by 2032.

The Promise Campaign highlights the fact that there are many young girls who show extraordinary promise but who are denied opportunity as they do not have access to a transformational education such as that provided by FHS. In many cases, all that promise needs to be fulfilled is the promise of a donation.

To date, many of our most eminent girls have been recipients of financial support. They are indistinguishable from their peers; yet their impact has been substantial. They have contributed enormously to the FHS Community, not only in terms of their talent, but also in their leadership and outlook. It is no exaggeration to say that they have been a vital component in the School’s success and ever-growing reputation.

The launch event was very well-attended by parents, staff members, alumni and friends of the school, who were universally and gratifyingly keen to support this important initiative. Mrs Elphinstone spoke passionately about our desire to embed a culture of philanthropy and the difference a transformational education makes to a child’s happiness and prospects.

Thank you so much to the Prince’s Trust for kindly lending us the Garrison Chapel, and to all who attended. It was wonderful to see the FHS Community’s enthusiasm in supporting this invaluable cause.
