Over the Easter break, sixteen girls enjoyed white, frosty mornings followed by dazzling spring sunshine on FHS’s first Arvon creative writing residential trip to Devon.
Along with our two authors-in-residence, Mrs Shevah and Miss Ivison, the girls stayed in twin and single rooms in a thatched, sixteenth-century farmhouse, where they cooked delicious meals in teams, went on walks, spent mornings sitting on sofas in a large barn doing fun, quick-fire writing tasks, their afternoons having free time to write or one to one tutorials with the excellent tutors, and the evening back in the barn under blankets, to read their work.
“It’s one of the best – if not the best – FHS trip I’ve ever been on,” said Cara in Y10.
The week was relaxing, inspiring and creative, and we are already making plans to go back to Arvon again next year.
