On a very hot and sunny Wednesday 16th June, Year 5 ventured to the Chelsea Physic Garden and what a fantastic time we had!

The staff at the garden were extremely impressed with the knowledge that the year 5 girls had, particularly with the speed at which they managed to correctly identify and label the different parts of a plant!  The girls loved learning about seed dispersal, especially impersonating a squirrel and burying their seeds to try and find later.  We learnt lots of interesting facts, from studying different plants that are used to create perfumes to learning about how vanilla plants are pollinated (by hand!).

How lucky are we to have such a beautiful place right on our doorstep – we can’t wait to go back!
