Year 1 have been very busy for their first full week back at school!

Our creative sides came out in art this week when we worked with Miss Van-Kamp drawing beach shells using oil and chalk pastels, and for our first ballet session, where we had a wonderful time dancing in Carmel Hall. This week we have also been introduced to our Autumn term class text: The Magic Faraway Tree. We had a great time imagining what the Magic Faraway Tree looked like, using adjectives to describe it dangling with giant, juicy berries and sweet, brown chestnuts. We also enjoyed picturing the funny elves, pixies and fairies that lived in the tree!

In maths we have been using our mathematical vocabulary to describe whether objects are greater than, less than, or equal to each other. We also learnt about Charlie crocodile and how he likes to eat BIG numbers!

Well done Year 1, keep up the good work!
