Almost a year on from its grand opening by the Duke of Westminster, our inspirational Sixth Form Centre, the Old School House, once more opened its doors to prospective pupils and their families for our eagerly anticipated Sixth Form Information Evening on Tuesday 20th September.

The evening commenced with talks from Mrs Elphinstone, Mrs Wilkes and Mrs Banks, before Upper Sixth students Isabella and Jasmine took to the podium to share their experiences of Sixth Form life at FHS. Jasmine, who joined the School for Lower Sixth, spoke fondly of how warmly she has been integrated into the FHS community despite only spending a year with us so far. Isabella has been at FHS since Year 7, and recounted how significant the School has been in shaping her into the person she is today. She also recalled how staying at FHS for the Sixth Form has enabled her to explore her interests more deeply with in-depth study and by taking on an Extended Project Qualification, which is taken by the Lower Sixth.

Following the talks, prospective pupils and families were taken on tours of the Old School House, our Sixth Former’s dedicated space which perfectly bridges the gap between school and university. Guests were then free to meet with subject staff to discuss their A Level ambitions and Higher Education intentions whilst browsing the OSH’s outstanding facilities, including a gym, state-of-the-art science lab and mezzanine Common Room.

The evening was a great opportunity for Year 11 students to begin to visualise their post-GCSE aspirations, and it was wonderful to welcome students from other schools who are considering joining us in September 2023.
