The 14th March is a particularly interesting day for mathematicians, as its date, 3.14, is the first three digits of Pi, an important irrational number.

At Francis Holland, we celebrated Pi Day with a quiz led by Mr Taylor and Miss Pulford, and girls from Year 7-13 competed for their house. Whilst eating lots of pie, of course, the girls took part in a trivia round, a quick-fire quiz, and a Countdown round, cheered on by their classmates. In the end, Franklin House triumphed with a decisive victory, but the event was enjoyed by all.
