The Margaret Bowden Modern Foreign Languages Poetry Competition 2016
Today we celebrated the incredible linguistic diversity of our school with our Modern Foreign Languages competition. Students from Y7 to the Sixth Form treated us to wonderful, funny and deeply moving recitals of a wide range of poems from all around the world. We were lucky this year to welcome two judges, talented and enthusiastic linguists themselves. We are very grateful to Old Girl, Chloe Houweling and her colleague Roberta Ferrari, both from Tiffany’s flagship store in London, to come in and pick the winners. A very difficult task, they both admitted as standards were so high.
A big thank-you to all participants and our guests for a great morning of beautiful poetry.
