The Junior School musical is now firmly established as a highlight of the summer term and the girls did not disappoint! Years 3-6 wowed us all with their lively and colourful performance of ‘Mary Poppins’.

Featuring an eclectic cast of talking statues, balletic pigeons, robotic office clerks and athletic chimney sweeps, the show follows the adventures of the dysfunctional Banks family. Their new nanny, Mary Poppins mixes inexplicable magic with practical psychology and the result is a show full of wonder, fun and some very good advice!

The girls loved learning the big show-stopper songs such as Jolly Holiday, Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious, Step in Time and Spoonful of Sugar and performed them with exuberance and enthusiasm. Their moving and sensitive renditions of the beautiful songs ‘Feed the Birds’ and ‘Let’s go fly a Kite’ reduced many in the audience to tears. An extraordinarily creative set, coupled with professional sound and lighting enhanced the drama and the music.
Congratulations to Year 6, the main actors, for their convincing and powerful performances and to the rest of the Junior girls for a spectacular display of singing and dancing. It really was Practically Perfect in Every Way.
