On Tuesday July 6th, Francis Holland Junior School was transported back to the roaring 20s in order to celebrate the House of Serendipity book launch, written by our very own Lucy Ivison! Dressed to impress, the girls of Year 6, 5 & 4 looked incredible as they enjoyed the day’s celebrations in some amazing, 1920s inspired costumes. The girls started the day in style as they got to grips with the Charleston in a fabulous dance workshop led by a wonderful team of professionals. Learning to twist and twirl like experts, dancing the cheeky Charleston was an enormously fun way to start the day.

The celebrations continued with a fabulous author talk by Lucy Ivison, providing wonderful insights into the intriguing process of a professional author. Miss Ivison told the girls all about her love of fashion and of the 1920s in particular, inspiring them to think about their own love of fashion too!

Finally, the celebrations were far from over as the girls enjoyed a vibrant 1920s tea party. They were spoilt with a selection of different finger sandwiches, delicious cakes and juices. At the end of the day, each girl received her own signed copy of the book. It was a truly joyous occasion!
