On the evening of Monday 29th November, Years 10 and 11 GCSE Drama students trod the boards of the Senior Hall and performed to a full audience of parents, students, and teachers.

Year 10 began the evening’s entertainment with an abridged version of Shakespeare’s romantic comedy Twelfth Night. Certainly not one for the purists out there: the girls incorporated multi-rolling, umbrellas wrapped in fairy lights, acapella singing of Ed Sheeran and Malvolio even supported yellow Wellington boots (instead of his infamous stockings!). The girls worked fabulously well as an ensemble and adeptly captivated the fast-paced nature of the play, as well as it’s many interwoven love stories, practical jokes and cases of mistaken identity.

Year 11 performed four scripted extracts from the plays: Amadeus, Nell Gwynn and The Watsons. Dressed in period costumes – and some rather flamboyant wigs – the girls gave mature, considered performances which showed great creative flair and attention to detail.

Many thanks to all who came and watch the performances. If you are looking for another theatre fix, then do come and watch the drama A Level girls perform in the Senior Hall at 6.00pm on Tuesday 7th December.
