Following on from news last week that creative work by Ophelia S (Year 9) and Honor T (Year 10) has been featured in the Pupil Power Roadshow – a student anthology competition by Planetary International and UK Schools Sustainability Network – we are pleased that student representatives at COP26 have been roaming the event wearing t-shirts featuring their work!
The ‘Roving Gallery’ visited COP26 to spread the message of sustainability throughout the event. The visual messaging on the t-shirts, including Ophelia’s poem and Honor’s painting of on octopus, gives a voice to school children up and down the country.
This runs in parallel to the launch of the FHS Sustainability Team in September 2021, which aims to realise our pledge to become a net zero carbon school by 2030 alongside hundreds of other schools in the UK as members of the ‘Let’s Go Zero’ campaign. We are so proud that our girls are already championing this incredibly important cause and that their voices are being heard.
