On Friday 25th June, the Francis Holland Sloane Square Alumni Association held an exclusive private viewing of Alice: Curiouser and Curiouser at the V&A. Over 50 guests, including parents, were welcomed at the event, the first of its kind for our alumni community of former pupils and staff.

Our guests had sole occupancy of the Museum’s Blavatnik Hall, meaning they were able to view the exhibition, which explores the origins of Alice in Wonderland, independently. From portraits and photographs of her inception, through to the re-imagined Alice and her story in VR, the exhibition features over 300 objects including illustrations, paintings, costumes, and light and audio displays.

A visual masterpiece, the stunningly curated rooms enchanted our guests for almost two hours. Museum guides were on-hand to answer questions, and the event also provided the opportunity for alumni to reconnect and speak with their peers, including Co-chairs of the Alumni Association, Audrey Mitchell, and Anne Cyron, and Headmistress, Lucy Elphinstone.

Thank you to all who attended this very special event. Keep your eyes open for more FHS Alumni Association events that are soon to be announced!
