This week, our Netballers enjoyed their first away fixture in over a year (in fact, it was the first fixture EVER for Year 4!) hosted by Fulham Prep school. With super close matches in each year group, we came away with 2 wins, 2 draws and 2 losses overall. The PE department were thrilled with the attitude and determination of the players. What a great start to the season!
The Year 6 Netball Tournament v Fulham Prep took place last Saturday 25th September. Eight girls from Year 6 were selected to represent FHS at Fulham Prep’s start of season tournament. Our players were outstanding in the group, finishing undefeated and losing out on the top spot only by goal difference. Our final was closely matched with Fulham Prep who ultimately won by one goal. The team came 4th overall and Elena was nominated as the most influential player.
To celebrate the London Marathon this Sunday, and inspired by Hissah in Year 7 who is taking part in the mini marathon, our running club worked in pairs to cover 2.62 miles around the track as part of the Mini Marathon Challenge. The girls used their maths skills to work out that it takes just over 10 laps to cover the mini marathon distance and a whopping 106 laps to cover the full marathon distance!
