Last Thursday, Year 6 attended a private viewing of The Highgrove Florilegium at The Garrison Chapel, Chelsea Barracks.
They viewed the work of 72 artists from around the world, who captured the floral displays at the home of Their Royal Highnesses The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall. The girls were delighted by the sheer detail in each picture and, sketchbooks in hand, they made their own detailed drawings of the artists’ work. These sketches will be transformed in our art lessons into beautiful botanical watercolours of our own. The girls were a real credit to the school and impressed us with their careful observational work.
Some of the girls took their work to show Mrs Elphinstone, who had recommended this visit. She is delighted it inspired others.
