Our final Young Reporter to be published in 2021 is Caley Collins in Lower Sixth, who has also previously been published in This is Local London newspaper for her article on how the role of the quintessential library has changed over the course of the pandemic.

Caley’s latest article is on an equally thought-provoking topic: Are Children’s Sports Matches Really Beneficial?

She examines the perceived advantages and disadvantages of children partaking in competitive sport; for example discussing the resilience and social skills which are nurtured in children by playing, and indeed particularly by losing, in a team, and on the flip side parental worries over the potential impact on a child’s self-esteem of not being chosen to play for a team or in a match.

Congratulations Caley for producing another brilliantly written article and we look forward to continuing to watch your journalistic career flourish!
